“We experienced strong sales in virtually all of our vehicle segments in April,” said Marc Comeau, GM of Canada’s vice-president of sales, service and marketing. “We’re optimistic for the remainder of 2013 as we continue with our aggressive launch plans, including the all new Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra which will be available later this year.”

Truck owners agree that having a reliable truck is essential for business and pleasure.  While many trucks are used for transporting large items for work, others are used to tow campers, jet skis, and boats.  Although trucks can be beneficial in many ways, some auto buyers simply don’t have the budget for a new truck model.  Luckily there is a wide variety of quality used trucks to choose from.  Buying a used truck can cost significantly less than buying new.  The affordable prices of used vehicles allow many people the ability to purchase them when they may not be able to otherwise.

You’ll find that buying a pre-owned truck will save you money on your auto insurance.  Since brand new vehicles depreciate so quickly after purchase, used trucks hold their value longer.  When you buy a pre-owned vehicle, you can be assured that it has gone through an extensive evaluation process with various quality checks.  Many used trucks and cars are still covered under the manufacturer’s warranty.  The dealership may then offer an additional guarantee or warranty on top of that.  You can drive your used vehicle away in confidence knowing that you are covered if a problem should arise.

The extensive variety that is available allows you to select the right truck for your needs.  Depending on what you are using your truck for, you can find one that will get the job done.  There are even used truck models available that have luxury features and options as well.  Features, such as rear view camera, GPS, and entertainment systems, will help make your ride more comfortable and safe.

The value of the used truck is based on its mileage, reliability, condition, popularity, and performance.  You can find all of the most important qualities that you are looking for in a truck in a more affordable option.

Selecting a used truck is exciting.  Not only are you getting a reliable and quality vehicle, but you will have peace of mind knowing that you are able to afford your new purchase.

BY ALAN MCPHEE, THE DAILY NEWS

If you count in all the model variables by brand, there are no less than 50 compact SUV/CUV choices on the Canadian market; all with a numbing sameness that makes it difficult to separate one from another.

They are all pretty much the same size, powered by similar base 4-cylinder engines mated to either 5-or 6-speed automatic transmissions; they all offer seats for five, roughly the same fuel economy and about the same cargo capacity. And they all include some variation of a FWD/AWD powertrain.

Chevrolet already has a player in this league with the Equinox and so one would wonder why the bow tie brand would want to add another to this crowded niche. On the other hand, they may have seen something the others have missed.

First of all, the new Chevrolet Trax is not like the others. It slots in just below those other compacts, in price and size, with a starting base of $18,495 (that’s about $2,000 -$5,000 less expensive). Built on the Chevrolet Sonic platform, it is also shorter in overall length (by about 300 mm/12.0-inches) with-out compromising 5-passenger comfort or competitive cargo space. To further emphasize the difference, Chevrolet describes the Trax as the ‘City SUV’, suggesting its agility and convenience have been designed for the family that lives in an urban landscape most of the time. The Trax is part of Chevrolet’s global marketing plan and will be sold in more than 140 markets worldwide. According to Marc Comeau, vice-president sales and marketing for Chevrolet Canada, “The Trax will be a popular choice with Canadians looking for the convenience and utility offered by a small SUV, ideal to drive in urban centres and cities across Canada.”

The Trax sports the characteristic Chevrolet bi-level grille found on the Cruze, Sonic and Malibu, flanked by nicely detailed Halogen headlights and fog lamps. With its shorter body and wide stance, it has a pugnacious look that suggests it’s ready to take on all-comers. Four models are offered starting with the LS/FWD ($18,495), 1LT/AWD, 2LT/AWD and LTZ/ AWD. Our tester was the LTZ/ AWD finished in Champagne Silver Metallic with two-tone Black and Light Titanium leatherette seating.

All models are equipped with Chevrolet’s proven Ecotec 1.4-litre, 138 horsepower, turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, mated to either a 6-speed manual (FWD models only) or 6-speed automatic with manual mode.

The combination of a small displacement engine with a turbocharger is becoming the powertrain of choice for small and compact vehicles because it gives you the best of both worlds…excellent fuel economy in normal driving and lively performance when the turbocharger is engaged. Standard dynamic assists include Stabilitrak (electronic stability control system), Traction Control, four-wheel power disc brakes with ABS, BA (Brake Assist) and Hill Hold Assist (prevents rolling back when starting on a steep hill).

A 4-cylinder engine works harder than a V6 and so the 6speed automatic transmission is kept busy providing smooth, seamless shifts while the engine is commendably quiet, especially at cruising speeds. I particularly like the manual mode.

A thumb button on the inside of the gearshift lets you ‘toggle’ up and down to select the gear you want. Our Trax LTZ featured the upgraded ‘Touring Ride and Handling’ suspension that provides a firmer but supple ride with flatter cornering and sharper steering response.

The front bucket seats are nicely formed to hold you comfortably and are handsomely finished in two-tone leatherette with Jet Black side bolsters and Light Titanium seating surfaces. Both front seats are heated and the driver gets 6-way power and lumbar tensioner.

The unique instrument cluster consists of a conventional analog tachometer alongside a wide screen with a bold digital speed readout and other trip information including fuel, engine temperature, odometers, instant and average fuel economy, range, ambient temperature and compass. The tilt-telescoping steering wheel is leather covered and includes fingertip controls for audio, cruise and Bluetooth connectivity.

Our LTZ came with Chevrolet’s MyLink system featuring a large, 7.0-inch colour touch screen mounted in the centre dashboard. It’s the command centre for your Bluetooth audio streaming, Premium Bose AM/ FM and XM Satellite Radio (3 months free service) and also serves as your rear backup camera view.

The rear bench seat is split 60-40 and can be folded flat to increase interior cargo capacity to a very useful 1,375 litres (48.5 cu-ft.). The front passenger seatback also folds flat to allow for longer loads. There are lots of cubbies and cupholders plus a storage tray under the front seat. Standard features you won’t find on the competition include 6 months of GM’s OnStar ‘Directions & Connections’ with automatic Crash Response, Turn-by-turn Navigation and OnStar Remote Link.

All the usual power features are included plus power, remote heated side mirrors with inset ‘blind spot’ mirrors; automatic headlamps; rear ultrasonic parking assist; remote start; engine immobilizer; 18-inch, silver painted aluminum wheels; auto-dimming rear-view mirror; roof rails and solar ray, deep tinted rear glass. Our tester also included the optional, power glass sunroof.

The Trax is equipped with a unique set of 10 airbags that include dual-stage front airbags, front side seat airbags, front knee bolsters, rear seat side cushion airbags and front-to-rear side curtain airbags.

Chevrolet has squeezed an enormous amount of content into the Trax. They call it a small ‘City SUV,’ but it’s only small on the outside.

Bad credit doesn’t matter

Because car loans interest rates and car loan amounts are based on a borrower’s credit score, it’s best to have the best possible credit score when you apply for a loan. By getting a bad credit car loan, you can improve your credit score by showing future lenders that you can repay a loan. This process will improve your credit history!

To buy used car in Bancroft is a great idea for saving money. Everyone knows that a new car lost 65% of its value in the first 5 years. But the case would be more extreme for a 1 to 2 years old car, it will lost its value 30-40%.

If you don’t mind to drive a used car (I mean a 2 to 5 years old car, it looks pretty new) rather than a new car, you may save  money to pay many other bills. If you want to keep the car not too old, you may resell it after driving for 2 to 3 years and buy another newer one. The value of the car will only drop 15% or less for a 5 years old car. Therefore, your driving cost for 2-3 years would only be 10-15% of the car’s original value.

The price quote above was only the price you buy from an ordinary car dealer. However, you can buy it much cheaper online.

Before entering the dealership

Before you step foot on a dealership lot, there are several things you need to think about, including what type of used car in Peterborough you can afford, what type of car is right for you, and what your credit history consists of.

Once you decide on type of car you need it is time to do your research to narrow down the choices. A number of resources on this site can provide you comparison information rating the vehicles within specific categories. Compare such areas as safety, reliability, fuel economy, warranties, operating costs, theft rates, general features, and options when making you decision.

How to achieve the best used car in Bancroft price?

Don’t buy the first thing you see, or in this case don’t believe them when they say that they are the ones with the lowest new car and used car prices, they have to say that, it’s their tactics! Be smart and don’t enter the dealership without visiting some of these sites Cars.com, InvoiceDealers, Autoweb, Car.com, CarsDirect, Ford Direct and AutoUSA. Find out how much you can buy used car for and then go to your car dealer and let the games begin, of course on your terms! Don’t be a dumb buyer as you are expected to be, do your homework if you want to buy used car at the lowest price possible! And one more thing, don’t hesitate to buy used car online if your new car purchase quote from CarsDirect is lower than the car dealer. Click buy and they will let you know what is the next step, and in a few days your new car will arrive, and you saved your money and precious time!

There are many ways to buy  a used car in Bancroft but only one is right!

This is the best car purchase option you will ever find, because you will find everything you need to buy used car from the comfort of your home. The whole buy used car process can be done online if you know the right way, but we are here to show you how and where. Online you can find and choose your dream car, find specification options, finance options, delivery details, extended warranty, carfax record check, auto loan in Bancroft approval, your credit score and much more.

Whether you’re a seasoned driver or are just getting behind the wheel for the first time, knowing safe winter driving methods is one sure-fire way to stay out of trouble on often-unpredictable winter roads. No matter where you drive or how much you plan to be behind the wheel this year, take some time to read up on these helpful winter driving tips:

Understand Your Options

In many cases, people get into trouble when driving in the winter even though they don’t need to actually go out. Before you leave your home or office to drive this winter, ask yourself if you really need to go out. If you don’t, it might be better to stay put or rely on public transportation.

Basic Tips

Before you head out on the road, make sure that you follow these basic winter driving tips:

  • Turn on headlights so other drivers can see you – even if it’s not dark
  • Use lower gears when possible to have more traction
  • Keep your windshield clean. You may need to install fresh windshield wipers.
  • Avoid using the cruise control function.
  • Be aware that bridges and overpasses will freeze before other road surfaces. Use extra caution.
  • Stay behind slow plows; don’t try to pass them even if they are slow. They will clear the road for you.
  • Know that all vehicles can get into dangerous situations on slippery roads – even four-wheel drive vehicles.

How to Handle Icy Roads

If you plan to drive this winter, it’s certain that you’ll come across some icy roads. Some of these roads will be obviously icy. Other roads may conceal the ice and make it appear as if there is no ice on the road (this is called black ice). If you find yourself stuck on an icy road, do the following:

  1. Take your foot off of the accelerator. Slow down. When stopping on ice, it will take about three times the normal time to stop if you were driving in dry conditions.
  2. Don’t slam on the brake. Instead, brake slowly and smoothly.
  3. Remove your foot from the accelerator if you begin to skid.
  4. If skidding, turn your steering wheel in the direction that you want your wheels to go, even if you are travelling sideways.
  5. Pump standard brakes. DO NOT pump ABS brakes.

Contact Bancroft Motors today at www.bancroftmotors.ca  for more tips on how to drive safely in winter conditions. We’re happy to help you understand how your particular vehicle is likely to respond to some conditions and give you advice about how to handle it. Need a winter check up? Finding   the right  motorhome in Ontario takes one part chance and two parts persistence. However , even before you  start   to look  for the  perfect  motorhome , you need to define  what  features   of  the trailer  make the motorhome right for you. Not all motorhomes  are the same – just as not all  Travel Trailers  consumers are the same. Here are some things to think about as you begin your search for the right  motorhome   :

Type

There are many different types  of motorhomes . Some motorhomes are detachable from a   truck , such as a fifth wheel motorhome. Other motorhomes  are   built in as the vehicle and motorhome in one unit. Each type of  RV   has its own benefits and drawbacks . Therefore, before you  choose   which type of motorhome  is perfect for you, it’s important  that you think about each different type .

We invite  you to visit your Ontario RV Dealer to  browse at  available  model   options in order to determine  what qualities  you like and dislike about the models of motorhomes . Sometimes, walking through the different types  of motorhomes  at the dealership  can help you to know for sure what you’re looking for in ways that looking at motorhome pictures can’t.

Consider your budget

All motorhomes  vary in price . Some motorhomes are  cheaper  to purchase  than others. Other motorhomes in Ontario may be more  money   , but  provide more opportunity . Therefore, before you begin your motorhome search, we recommend that you   establish  an affordable  motorhome budget that can help guide you  throughout your search.  Apply for an RV loan in Ontario today  and figure out  what your budget is or to  determine   about what kind of RVloan you may qualify for.

Uses

Just as you need to think about the type  of  travel trailer  that you want, you should also think about how you will use the motorhome . For instance , some of our customers  want to have a motorhome that they can take on  leisurely   summer trips with them and live comfortably while traveling. Other clients  want a motorhome  that they can take  fishing  on the weekends. Think about  how you will use the motorhome  in order to  choose  what type  of motorhome  and what features you will need  included in that RV .
